🔎 Title and summary of research project :

Migration and Borders. A Study of the Experience of People on the Move Through the Live Method

This study aims to explore how individuals process the decision to set out on a journey, correlating the factors that drive departure-namely personal, religious, and magical dimensions, as well as concepts of hope and destiny-with perceptions of the future, which inevitably guide present-day choices (Jedlowski, 2012; Pellegrino, 2014; Deriu, 2015; Appadurai, 2016). At the same time, it remains open to exploring other aspects that may emerge from the firsthand accounts shared by participants. The research will focus in particular on the French-Italian and Tunisian borders, where, due to failed attempts to cross, people often remain stuck and are forced to reorganize their daily lives. The aim is for the analytical work and materials produced by this research to help build a vision of migration from the perspective of those who enact it. This perspective could also serve public outreach goals and contribute to the development of critical knowledge and skills, especially among school students.
