Mutations en Méditerranée (MeM) is a multidisciplinary scientific journal in the humanities and social sciences. In the form of thematic dossiers, it analyses the Mediterranean area as a fertile field for experimentation and problematisation, in order to study the various processes (political, economic, demographic, legal, social, cultural) and issues in their historicised context, at work at the time of emerging changes, of turning point,these can be periods of crisis or longer periods of transition.

Rather than establishing an a priori common theoretical definition of the Mediterranean area, the aim is to encourage a variety of interdisciplinary work in the humanities and social sciences, as close as possible to the sources and players in the field. The journal encourages comparative approaches, reflexivity on concepts and empirical research approaches, as well as the use of mixed methods and new tools.

The editorial board of Mutations en Méditerranée is made up of doctoral students from various disciplines in the humanities and social sciences. The journal is supported by a scientific committee of researchers and teacher-researchers who are members of the research units at theAix Marseille University.

Mutations en Méditerranée is a publication space focusing on contributions from young researchers on a national and international scale.

The journal is supported by the Centre méditerranéen de sociologie, de science politique et d'histoire (MESOPOLHIS,), in collaboration with three doctoral schools ED 354 (Languages, Literature and Art doctoral school), ED 355 (École doctorale Espace Culture Sociétés), ED 67 (Doctoral School of Legal and Political Sciences), the Mediterranean Centre for the Humanities (MMSH) and its Publishing Division.
