Details

After an initial session between January and June 2023, the Israel-Palestine doctoral seminar will be held again in autumn/winter 2023-2024. Organised by Théo Borel and Gabriel Terrasson, doctoral students at IREMAM (UMR 7310) and MESOPOLHIS (UMR 7064), the aim of this public seminar is to provide a monthly meeting place for researchers, post-docs, doctoral students and masters students in the humanities and social sciences whose research focuses on Israeli-Palestinian spaces.
Following on from the Mobilities, Borders and Conflicts in Israeli-Palestinian Spaces ANR programme (2007-2011) and the Palestinian Spatialities and Temporalities research seminar (2017-2020), this interdisciplinary meeting will be at the crossroads of anthropology, geography, history, literature, sociology, political science and art. It will provide an opportunity to share the tools, approaches and concepts used by researchers, teachers, post-doctoral researchers, doctoral candidates and students from both an epistemological and methodological perspective.
The four 2-hour sessions, scheduled to take place between November and December 2023, will be divided into three parts. The first part will be devoted to a summary presentation of the written work of one of the doctoral students. This will be followed by an argumentative commentary by a post-doctoral student, researcher or teacher-researcher, based on the text provided in advance. Finally, the debate will be opened to the audience for a collective discussion, in particular with the other doctoral students.
#2 – Friday 17th November 2023 The second session of the second edition of the Israel-Palestine Iremam / Mesopolhis 2023-2024 doctoral seminar will take place from 2 to 4 pm.
At this next session we will be welcoming Eve Benhamou, ATER at the IEP in Aix-en-Provence and doctoral student at the ICEE, for a talk entitled «The second Intifada and its repercussions on the French domestic and diplomatic scene 2000-2005». Elisabeth Marteu (Centre de recherches politiques Sciences Po Paris(CEVIPOF)) will be available to discuss this paper.
The session will take place on the IREMAM premises. room A219.
A hybrid format (face-to-face/visioconference) will be used.
