The MESOPOLHIS doctoral students' organising committee is pleased to invite you to the following events Doctoriales 2022 from 26 to 30 September. After two years troubled by the pandemic, the Mediterranean Centre for Sociology, Political Science and History is organising this new event to bring together all the members of this new UMR. The programme drawn up by the organising committee aims to encourage exchanges between members of all the MMSH laboratories at three key meetings: the inaugural conference (26/09); the round table for research freedoms (28/06); and the «post-thesis» workshop (30/09). The rest of the week will be punctuated by presentations by doctoral students on the laboratory's current research, the detailed programme of which will be announced in the coming weeks.

Inaugural conference - «Terrains afghans : Itinéraires de recherche croisés» (MMSH). The inaugural conference of the Doctoriales 2022 will focus on studies on Afghanistan, with contributions from professors Alessandro Monsutti (Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies Geneva) and Gilles Dorronsoro (European Centre for Sociology and Political Science CESSP). The aim of this event is to look back at the careers of these two specialists in order to understand the wide range of fields, subjects and research practices being conducted in Afghanistan.

This meeting on the freedoms of research and researchers will pay tribute to our colleague Fariba Adelkha, who has been imprisoned in Iran since 2019.

Workshop - «Thinking about/preparing for the post-doctoral period» (Espace Philippe Seguin). Aware that the post-doctoral period starts as early as the PhD stage, the committee decided to organise a workshop on 30/09 to present the opportunities available to young PhDs once they have obtained their degree. Based on the presentation of practical tools and feedback from members of the laboratory, the aim of this workshop is to inform and advise PhD students on how to plan their professional integration.
