MESOPOLHIS is delighted to welcome Natalia Ribas-Mateos from 1 March to 10 April 2026.


Natalia Ribas-Mateos is a researcher at the Universitat autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), within the TRANSMENA research group. She is preparing an HDR (habilitation to supervise research) with professor Adelina Miranda (University of Poitiers, Migrinter) entitled A Sociology of Crosslocations.

Her main areas of research are the Mediterranean, southern Europe, Morocco, the Levant and the border between Mexico and the United States. She has published nine books as sole author. For a full list of her works, see : Natalia Ribas-Mateos (0000-0003-1106-4467) (orcid.org)

His work at MESOPOLHIS includes translating parts of his HDR into French. Related to Axis 2: «Migration, mobility and traffic».», His project is supported within the laboratory by : Constance de Gourcy, Sylvie Chiousse, Sofia Laiz, Lina Benchekor and Anne Tricot.

One month before her HDR defence, Natalia Ribas-Mateos will organise a public defence at MESOPOLHIS (date to be announced).

One month before her HDR viva, Natalia Ribas-Mateos will hold a public viva rehearsal at MESOPOLHIS (date to be confirmed).
