A quarterly scientific magazine, the Revue historique des armées is the Ministry of Defence's history magazine and the communications arm of the Service historique de la Défense (SHD). Founded in 1945, it was awarded a prize by the Académie française in 1954 and by the Académie des sciences morales et politiques in 1981. It is published four times a year.
