Summary

Digital mediation professionals contribute on a daily basis to the development of citizens' power to act, with the structural objective of combating digital inequalities. However, little is known about these players and their practices, particularly in the sociological literature. Based on a field study of digital mediation structures in the South of France, consisting mainly of observations and interviews, this article sets out to analyse acts of digital mediation, their practical applications and the values that underpin them. By unravelling the range of tasks carried out by the professionals surveyed, it is possible to identify a categorisation of acts in terms of introductory, in-depth and creative mediation, as well as a structuring around representations describing digital mediation as political and pedagogical. Finally, the results presented allow us to conclude on the power of the digital and social inclusion of these acts.
