Welcome to the laboratory

MESOPOLHIS welcomes researchers of all nationalities for short or long-term stays.

All visitors are granted access to the laboratory after their application has been examined by an internal scientific committee.

This reception does not entitle you to any remuneration or material assistance.

The aim is to enable visiting researchers to forge links with MESOPOLHIS members, take part in the laboratory's activities and gain access to Aix-Marseille University's documentary resources.

Reception procedure - Stay > 1 month

To apply for a place at MESOPOLHIS, you must :

  • Hold a Master's degree or doctorate
  • Carry out research in the areas covered by the laboratory
  • Plan a minimum stay of 1 month
  • Send to mesopolhis-gestionnaire@univ-amu.frAt least 4 months before the date of the requested stay, you must submit a file containing :
    • A detailed CV
    • A letter of motivation indicating the desired period of stay and the scientific activities planned during the stay
    • A research project (3 to 5 pages)
    • For doctoral students, a letter of recommendation from the thesis supervisor
  • If the application is complete, it will be examined by members of the Laboratory Council 3 times a year :
    • End of September for requests for stays starting in the following months: January, February, March, April
    • End of January for requests for stays starting in the following months: May, June, July
    • End of May for requests for stays starting in September, October, November or December
  • If your application is accepted, you will receive a letter of welcome from the laboratory specifying the name of the person who will be your contact at MESOPOLHIS, the period and duration of your stay, the administrative procedure to follow and the documents to provide. Once these documents have been provided, an agreement will be drawn up with Aix-Marseille Université.

Reception procedure - Stay < 1 month

For stays of less than 1 month, requests for a letter of welcome may be considered by the management.

Applications should be sent to the management (mesopolhis-direction@univ-amu.fr) accompanied by a CV, a letter of motivation, a research project and a letter of support from one of the members of the laboratory.
