A sociologist, she has been working since 2003 on the issue of childhood, emotional bonds and relationships, atypical families and parenthood within child protection care systems. Her work focuses on child protection systems, the relationships between the various players - children, parents and child welfare professionals - and the issues of history, identity and biographical transmission, as well as the analysis of child protection systems in the Mediterranean and Europe. She is a member of LAMES and of Axis 4, directed by Laurent Mucchielli. She is continuing her work on issues relating to the analysis of kinship, parenthood within specific systems, the history of abandonment, and biographical writings in child protection.

She has directed two research projects: one on "Foster family relationships", the other on "The history of the vulnerable child".
2014-2017 : Research into foster family relationships, with financial support from the ONPE (l'Observatoire National de la Protection de l'Enfance), entitled. "What makes a host family a family?was completed in January 2017. This is sociological research, combining the views of the various players (children, parents, foster families, institutions, etc.), using a multi-method approach (interviews, participant observation, analysis of children's files) and a multi-disciplinary approach (legal and sociological). More than a hundred interviews were carried out, and a sociological analysis of family and sibling configurations and a legal analysis provided answers to broader questions about parenthood.
Concerning the "Life stories of vulnerable children" research project, the use of biographical writing in the context of child protection, practices and effects on parents and professionals.
This is an analysis of the biographical process in atypical families, particularly in the child protection sector. The importance of biographical writing takes on its full meaning in the specific context of child placement, where life events are constructed outside the original family structure.
It is also developing innovative approaches to the presentation of research results and outputs, particularly in visual form.
Production of a film for CD13 (Bouches du Rhône) "Family assistants, a job for the whole heart". After a period of immersion and a participatory survey of the foster family, sociological research was carried out using filmed interviews (simple self-confrontation and cross-confrontation of childcare professionals).
Production of a training platform for family assistants and social workers, based on film anthropology work within various foster families (2012-2014). This platform can be used in all social work training programmes (family assistant, social worker, childminder, etc.).

- The aim of the symposium on "Film-based research in child protection" is to examine the film-based mechanisms used and the methodology employed in child protection research. It will draw on a range of research currently underway in France and abroad using the camera in social science research, "audiovisual experimentation as a means of collecting data" (Duflot, 1970). It brings together contributions from researchers in the social sciences (sociology, education sciences, etc.) who use the filmic approach to observe, analyse and describe the work of social workers and family assistants, in order to gain a better understanding of professional and family relationships within foster care arrangements such as foster families, but also within families when a monitoring measure is put in place in the parents' home.
