Details

Mesopolhis 2 seminar session on "migrations, mobilities, circulations".

Friday 24 November 2023 - MMSH

How do we investigate the border? methodological questions and presentation of collaborative projects with Mesopolhis Axis 2

Discussant: Francesco VigneriResearch Fellow in Communication Sociology. Sapienza Università di Roma (Italy)

Hosted by : Marc Bernardot

Axis 2 benefits from the convergence of several approaches by researchers proposing collaborations with Mesopolhis: a thesis project to be finalised by a lecturer in Nîmes, an association project by an ATER in Avignon, preparation and support for an ERC application by a Romanian colleague or a programme by a visiting scholar from Poland. What they all have in common is a reflection on Euro-Mediterranean borders, interweaving fieldwork and work on the cultures, policies and markets for managing the borders of the European Union, in Greece, Italy, France and Poland. The session will be organised around short presentations (in French) and will provide an opportunity for exchanges between the discussant and the participants, with particular attention paid to methodological issues of access to boundary situations and data management.

Brahim BelhadjLecturer, Montpellier, "The role of rescue NGOs in the Mediterranean in the implementation of public south-north migration policies in European countries".
