Screening and debate Short of breath (2023)
This session of the IppiMed seminar looks at the Covid crisis as a political crisis and how to film the hospital in the face of this crisis. How can we film when the world has come to a standstill, when we can no longer move around? How do you film what's happening to you? How do you film what amounts to public policy in these conditions?
In March 2020, a group of directors from Brussels came up with ways for hospital workers to share their commitment, their struggle and their suffering. As the months went by, the words evolved. The more the wear and tear is felt, the more the film highlights the failings of past public policies in the healthcare system, mirroring our dismay.
Discussion with Olivier Magis, director, introduced by Francesca Sirna, sociologist, CNRS/CNE, and Clément Dorival, director.
