Details

Images du politique et politiques de l'image en Méditerranée (IPPI Med) is an inter-laboratory seminar (Mesopolhis, Iremam, Prism), supported by the European Commission. MMSH and coordinated by Philippe AldrinPascal Cesaro, Pierre Fournier and Vincent Geisser.

Wars, genocides and exiles are captured and portrayed by documentary and fiction writers and directors. These human tragedies, which are part of history, have often given rise to 'external', distanced accounts, sometimes interspersed with eyewitness accounts. By choosing to immerse themselves in scenes of everyday life around the making of bread, a practice inherited from ancestors and passed down from generation to generation, the documentaries "Tonratun and "Around the Tanur tell other stories that are not only domestic but also deeply political.
