Organised by three doctoral students and a young doctor in history from the MESOPOLHIS laboratory, this seminar aims to programme a monthly event for researchers, post-doctoral fellows, doctoral students and masters students in the humanities and social sciences whose research focuses on Experiences of violence in the context of contemporary conflicts (19th-20th centuries).

Session 4: "The memory of violence in question: places, perceptions and representations of memory in contemporary European conflicts in the 20th century".

- Anélie Prudoranthropologist : "What we remember. Monumenting memories of political violence (Spanish War/World War II) in Madrid: actors, temporalities and issues".
- Alexandre MilletUniversity of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne: "The Shoah experience of French prisoners of war in Stalag 325: perceiving and representing Nazi violence in the Polish General Government during and after the war (1942-1960' )".
Discussion: Elisabeth Anstettanthropologist and Director of Research at the CNRS (HDR) UMR 7268 - ADES. His work, which has contributed to the emergence of the field of necro-politics, examines the social treatment of the corpse, the ways in which it is handled and the issues at stake, and more specifically funerary practices and the processes involved in the patrimonialisation of human remains in contemporary contexts marked by extreme violence or the experience of mass death.
