Sociology researcher working on the effects and reception of museum mediation systems, under a Cifre between Mucem and Aix-Marseille University.

Functions

Working at the Museum of European and Mediterranean Civilisation (Mucem) as a Cifre doctoral student, with the following general remit evaluation of the Mucem's policy of diversifying its audience.

  • It carries out operational tasks such as coordinating the Audience Council. His role is to organise this twice-yearly meeting, which brings together around twenty heads of associations and institutions from the PACA region, as well as Musem professionals. Between these two key annual events, he coordinates the network by writing up the minutes, setting up intermediate meetings with the museum's professionals to move things forward collectively between each meeting, and also by going out to meet each of the member organisations of the Conseil des Publics.
  • In 2025, in conjunction with professionals from the museum's visitors' department, it launched a day of discovery of the Mucem for professionals from the social sector (leisure centres, social centres, employment support structures, etc.) who can benefit from the Destination Mucem scheme for their users.

Academic work

Provisional title of thesis: "Audiences far removed from museums: evaluation of the MuCEM's policy of diversifying its audiences".

The thesis focuses on both the response to an institutional commission (on audiences far removed from museum practices), and a broader analysis of the effects and receptions of cultural facilities, at the crossroads between the sociology of art, political sociology and urban sociology.

Based on an inductive approach, participant observation coupled with interviews form the methodological basis of this thesis.
