Study day on "Third-party venues in the city" organised by the Observatoire des publics et des pratiques de la culture (Observatory of cultural audiences and practices)

As part of the PubLiCS programme (Publics des Lieux Culturels et de la Science), the Observatoire des publics et des pratiques de la culture is organising a study day entitled "Third-Party Places in the City" to put the results of the current survey of third-party places in Aix-Marseille and their relationship with the neighbourhoods in which they are located into perspective with the same issues in other national contexts.

The aim of this event is to compare and contrast the state of the art and ways of theorising about third places in different national traditions, and to provide food for thought about the public, the participation of neighbours and the influence of these structures in the neighbourhoods where they are located, from a variety of perspectives: the initial results of the PubLiCS programme and case studies at local level, the views of professionals and the points of view of European researchers.
