In collaboration with the Observatoire des publics et pratiques de la culture (Observatory of cultural audiences and practices) and the cross-disciplinary 'Urban Studies' unit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purpose of this paper is to examine some of the issues and effects of the Paris 2024 Cultural Olympiad, whose programme aims to create links between art and sport. The initial results of the survey carried out in Ile-de-France and Marseilles shed light on the way in which the various players are taking hold of this event, associating it with a variety of objectives ranging from broadening audiences to media visibility. By looking in particular at the way in which the Cultural Olympiad engages the 'participation' of local residents, we will show that the art-sport encounter analysed here is an opportunity to question the way in which their respective audiences are conceived, and even worked on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
