Thursday 15 and Friday 16 May 2025 | MMSH

The annual days are a high point in the life of the MATE-SHS (Méthodes, Analyses, Terrains, Enquêtes en Sciences Humaines et Sociales - Methods, Analysis, Fieldwork and Surveys in the Humanities and Social Sciences), a business network of CNRS Human and Social Sciences. They provide an opportunity for the network community - engineers, teachers and researchers - to meet and discuss a cross-cutting theme. During these days, the existing local and thematic groups present their activities and other groups may be formed. It's a great opportunity for discussion and for setting up new projects.

Like all network events, the Annual Conference is open to MATE-SHS members and anyone else who is interested!

The first half-day will look at the use of data and methods to preserve or restore heritage through 2 research projects on Notre-Dame de Paris and the Grotte Cosquer, as well as the presentation of a tool for the online use of the MMSH's cartographic heritage. The subject will then be broadened to include the issue of making the most of data, with a time for discussion based on a review of data papers. Data & Corpus and the environment Wikidata.

Friday will be organised around a progress report on major projects for the SHS community, Commons and HALiance (WP7), followed by the traditional 'life of the network' session. In the early afternoon, there will be a workshop on educational games, led by the association 'La ville en jeux'.

Jean-Baptiste Bertranda statistical engineer at MESOPOLHIS, is a member of the organising committee.

Registration required.
