Round table 1 - How can palaeoanthropology provide a better understanding of contemporary migration?

with Sylvie Mazzella and Christine Verna

(moderator : Emmanuel Ma Mung)

Migration is an enduring fact of human history. It must be understood, beyond stereotypes and prejudices, as a characteristic of human beings. What lessons can we draw for the present from this plunge into prehistory? This dialogue between a palaeoanthropologist and a sociologist examines the contours of a common destiny between the slow and relentless dispersal of our species, its settlement over thousands of years from one continent to another, and recent migrations, in their great diversity and relative acceleration in a globalised world.
