Speeches :

Faten Mbarek, Senior Assistant in Sociology, TMM laboratory, Tunis: "The culture of commitment among young people in Tunisia through the cinema".
This talk takes up the research work begun on alternative culture among young people in Tunisia, funded by the Arab Social Science Council in the form of a research grant, with a particular focus on new forms of expression and cultural democracy: a comparative study of street music in Tunisia and Morocco after 2011.

Pedro Romero Balsas, Doctor of Sociology and Professor at the Autonomous University of Madrid, and Sofía Laiz Moreirapostdoctoral researcher (MESOPOLHIS): "Becoming a parent abroad: implications of migration on parental identity and the use of parental leave".
Discussion: Nathalie Chapon
Studies of how the migrant population knows about and uses family policies are rare and concentrated only in Central European and Nordic countries. The use of public care policies has been examined to understand how migrants transform both forms of care and normative care discourse, influenced by the design of family policies, in particular the parental leave agenda. Our study focuses on the American migrant population employed at the time of becoming parents in Southern European countries.
This research is part of a wider project entitled The impact of parental leave and childcare policies on family dynamics in Spain. This presentation is also the result of a research visit to the MESOPOLHIS laboratory, funded by the "José Castillejo" grant. Both projects were funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
