Axis 1 seminar: the digital issue, from teaching to mediation

As part of this seminar organised by Axis 1, two guest speakers will address the issue of digital technology, from parenting to mediation. These presentations will be followed by a discussion.

The aim of this presentation is to outline all the research projects carried out as part of the post-doctorate on «digital parenting».

The first part will present the main results of the thesis on the use of digital technology and the second part will be devoted to all the post-doctorate research projects on «digital parenting», supported by Nathalie Chapon and attached to the SEAFE research cluster on «digital parenting». Broken down into several projects carried out in collaboration with various stakeholders, this research project aims to understand the issues, needs and obstacles faced by parents, pupils and teachers with regard to the use of digital tools (at school, at work and at home); parenting practices and educational practices in the digital age, as well as the place of digital tools in socialisation processes.

Matthieu Demory will present his thesis, entitled The democratisation of digital culture. The worlds of digital mediation and social inclusion, defended in December 2022, under the direction of Sylvia Girel,based on two articles, one published in the journal SociologyS and the other to be published in Training practices/Analysis.
